Lara Accountancy Group, Inc. was started with a simple mission: To provide superior accounting services driven by expertise, efficiency, and personalized service. Over time, our operations have evolved, and we’ve continued to serve an increasingly diverse clientele. Still, we’ve remained steadfast in our commitment to our mission—and to our clients.

In 2011, Marcello Lara, Certified Public Accountant and Consultant opened for business to provide friendly, client-centered accounting services to Common Interest Developments in the Redwood City Bay area. After 9 years of steady growth, primarily from word-of-mouth referrals, the company incorporated and became Lara Accountancy Group, Inc. in 2020.

Since 2020 our growth has continued through our existing industry relationships and reputation. In response to our continued growth, we remain flexible in our staff size and match talented business and accounting professionals with industry specific experience and other broad-based business experience with our client's needs.

About Marcello Lara, CPA

Marcello (aka Marco) has been a dedicated fixture in the common interest development (CID) industry since 2002. Starting his career with a San Francisco management firm, he gained hands-on experience in private accounting—managing internal bookkeeping, collaborating with executives, and providing community managers with vital financial insights to support their Boards.

In 2005, Marcello transitioned to public accounting, joining Northern California's largest firm serving CIDs. He made partner in less than four years and was instrumental in modernizing the firm's technological infrastructure to accommodate accelerated growth. This experience gave him a profound understanding of the complex governance, legal nuances, and accounting standards unique to CIDs.

Bringing together his extensive background in both private and public accounting, Marcello launched his own firm in 2011. Thanks to a proven business model and a deep commitment to earning the trust of community managers and Board members, his firm is now recognized as one of the best in the state.

Beyond the office, Marcello’s success affords him the time to focus on what matters most: his family and friends. He loves traveling, golfing, and cooking for the people he cares about.
